Heat Transfer Heat Transfer

Heat transfer enhancement studies are carried out using specially designed facility. The effect of jet interruption and boundary layer manipulation on heat transfer enhancement is examined using this facility. Research on forced convection heat transfer using liquids is carried out in a closed-loop circulation system The system is instrumented to provide a constant temperature liquid sink. This loop operates with distilled water as well as fluorocarbons for heat transfer studies on microelectronic components. An auxiliary test section which is used with this loop is specifically designed for jet impingement research. For mapping temperature fields non-invasively a thermal imaging system is available. This apparatus is integrated with a data acquisition system to facilitate temperature monitoring .
