About Eugene Donati
Eugene Donati brings over twenty-five years’ experience in corporate, political and advisory public relations to our faculty. His career includes Vice President of Corporate Communications at Equitable Capital, the head of U.S. Communications at MasterCard, and spokesman for Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh. He also served at the advisory firm Hill & Knowlton and, later, at Clark & Weinstock, where as Managing Director his clients included investment banks, Fortune 500 manufacturers, and high tech, finance, energy and insurance companies. He also managed investor and employee relations for over 100 mergers transactions on Wall Street and brings global experience, with clients in Japan, China, Germany, the UK, Hong Kong and elsewhere. Professor Donati began his public relations career as the Capitol Hill press secretary for two Members of Congress and as media spokesman for political campaigns in four U.S. States.
Professor Donati's most recent graduate degree is from the University of Toronto, where he completed research on the communication of environmental liabilities. At Toronto, he was elected a resident fellow at Massey College, the graduate honors college. Gene's first graduate degree is from The American University in Washington in public administration and political campaign management. He earned a B.A. with honors in international relations from the University of Pittsburgh.
Prior to teaching at City College, Professor Donati taught in New York University’s Graduate Programs in Business, where he also designed graduate coursework in public affairs, investor relations, issues management and corporate communications.
