About Richard Calichman
Professor Richard F. Calichman received his Ph.D. from Cornell University, followed by postdoctoral research at Columbia University.
His areas of scholarly research include the intellectual history of Japan and modern Japanese philosophy and literature. He teaches courses in Japanese language, literature, philosophy, and film.
Currently, he chairs the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature and coordinates the Japanese language program.
