The Division of Humanities and the Arts has the distinction of maintaining several centers, encouraging students to further their studies in their respective subject areas.

Kaye Scholars Program

The Kaye Scholars Program offers qualified Humanities & Arts Majors stipends equal to full in-state tuition for up to eight semesters, a faculty mentor, and participation in the community of fellow scholars. After completion of the sophomore year, recipients are eligible to apply to the City College Fellowships program (a mentoring program, offering $1,000 stipend per semester) with support from the Kaye Scholars Program.

poetry Outreach Center

The Poetry Outreach Center encourages the creation and appreciation of poetry at all levels of public educationn. CCNY facultu annd graduate students conduct readings and writing workshops in the  city's public schools, which culminate in the annual Spring  Poetry Festival..Click here to visit the Center's website.

publishing certificate program

TheI Publishing Certificate Program (PCP) at CCNY was formed on the initiative of best-selling author and CCNY graduate alumnus Walter Mosley. The program is unique in offering undergraduates and non-matriculating students a variety of courses and seminars which will provide them with the knowledge, skills and contacts necessary to enter the publishing field. A special concern of the PCP is the issue of diversity in the book publishing industry and its impact on cultural production. Click here to visit the PCP website.

Rifkind Center

The primary goal of the Center is to promote cultural activities in the Humanities connected with the College. It does so in a variety of ways, including support for faculty research, the organization and sponsorship of special events of various kinds, high school outreach programs, and the support of a number of publications associated with the College.

Rudin Center

The Samuel Rudin Academic Resource Center was designed to provide state-of-the-art facilities and ongoing peer relationships which, combined, would offer 21st-century academic support services to CCNY students. The Center is located in NAC

the Writing Center

The CCNY Writing Center offers one-on-one assistance for students working on writing assignments and projects from across the disciplines. You should visit us whenever you need someone to listen to your ideas, discuss your topics or assignments, and read your drafts. Writing consultants will work with you on planning, drafting, and revising -- all of the important steps in your writing process.
