Welcome to the English Department
One of the largest academic departments at CCNY, English offers a wide variety of courses for its undergraduate and graduate degrees; from the medieval to the modern, as well as comparative literature. Students can pick from classes that may range from Melville, Shakespeare, Black Drama, to the Political Novel, Imagining Queen Elizabeth, Caribbean Spirits-Colonial Ghosts, and the Poetry of Jazz. Its creative writing offerings include fiction, poetry, and drama for the beginner and advanced writer. It boasts over 100 full and part-time faculty.
