Cityvisions is the annual capstone event at which the MFA students screen their work for the campus and the professional communities in New York. This year we celebrate "a decade of films that matter". Cityvisions has grown into a major two-day festival held in May at a Manhattan theater. This year's event will be held at The New York Directors Guild Theater is located in the heart of midtown Manhattan at 110 West 57th Street. The event begins on Friday, May 29th @ 6pm and continues on Saturday May 30th @ 11am. Admission is free; postcard invitations are required. The festival is a juried event with judges from the filmmaking profession awarding prizes to promising filmmakers in eight categories. Guest speakers at past Cityvisions events include Christine Vachon, Alan Heim, DA Pennebaker, Sigourney Weaver, Hal Hartley, Peter Bogdanovich and Albert Maysles.Some of our award sponsors include: Eastman Kodak, New Line Cinema, The National Board of Review, New York Women in Film & Television, CUNY-TV and Other World Computing, and Entertainment Partners.
Cityvisions attracts an audience of over 1,200 people, including distributors, agents, film festival directors and cinema lovers from the New York community.
