Cityvisions is the annual capstone event at which MFA students screen their work for press, peers and the professional media community in New York. Cityvisions has grown into a major two-day festival held in May in New York City. This year's event will be held at The New York Directors Guild Theater, located in the heart of midtown Manhattan at 110 West 57th Street. The event begins on Friday, May 28th at 6pm and continues on Saturday May 29th at Noon. Admission is free; postcard invitations are required. The festival is a juried event with judges from the filmmaking profession awarding prizes in eight different categories, from screenwriting to editing. Guest speakers at past Cityvisions events include Sigourney Weaver, Christine Vachon, Alan Heim, DA Pennebaker, Hal Hartley, Peter Bogdanovich and Albert Maysles. Some of our award sponsors include: Eastman Kodak, New Line Cinema, The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures, New York Women in Film & Television, CUNY-TV, Abel Cine Tech, Other World Computing and Entertainment Partners. Cityvisions attracts an audience of over 1,200 people, including distributors, agents, film festival directors and cinema lovers from the New York community.
