About Prof. Babak Rassi
Professor Babak Rassi is an Independent Film and television editor. His work in the past fifteen years has ranged from promotional videos and episodic TV, to feature length fiction and documentaries. Professor Rassi's goal as an educator is to encourage the free and critical thinking that would enable students to take risks and discover fresh approaches in storytelling. His editing classes are designed to teach established conventions of editing as well as emerging trends in post-production while providing students with a solid technical foundation.
Professor Rassi's recent work include: LOOKING FOR PALLADIN; a feature film directed by fellow MCA professor Andrzej Krakowski, an interview with Kurdish-Iranian director Bahman Ghobadi conducted by Peter Scarlet, a documentary in progress about the Dada pioneer Hans Richter, and FESTIVAL IN THE DESERT, a music & culture documentary featuring the music of Ali Farka Toure and Robert Plant.
