Join a student body that brings together graduates from New York City area schools, other regions of the country, and many foreign lands – as diverse a population as any school in the country. A significant proportion of our students come from as far away as Japan, Israel, Korea, Poland, and Argentina to study with outstanding faculty, and learn from each other.
Along with our fine traditional music courses, our specialties, the Jazz Performance and Sonic Arts programs, are good reasons to come to study in the Big Apple. And we pride ourselves on the cordial ambiance found throughout the department. From casual chats in the main office, to studying together in our beautiful music library, to jamming in the practice rooms in the tower, we are all serious musicians encouraging and appreciating each other’s talents on a daily basis.
