About Bertie Ferdman
Teaching Philosophy
I am passionate about theatre, and consider the arts a vital contribution to society. To me, every individual is a powerful creative source. This philosophy is evident in how I teach and how I create. I give students the tools and the knowledge, access to games, improvisations, movement skills, writings, performances, artists, in order to inspire their own voices, their own thinking. Based on the process I use with my own theatre company to develop new work, I teach skills and ways of thinking about art with a focus on how students can apply these principles directly to their own work.
