About Kathleen Potts
Theatre was originally done as a communal act, as a way of bringing people and societies together. Regardless of whether I am teaching theatre history, or helping new playwrights find their own unique voices, I am often aware of that feeling of community building within the classroom. I bring passion and energy and commitment to the experience of teaching. Before long I find that the students match, and sometimes even exceed, my love for and devotion to the art and practice of theatre.

Playwriting
Ms. Potts is currently one of the Playwrights-in-Residence with "Sourcewriters" at Manhattan Theatre Source. Other residencies have included the Monarch Theatre Company and a Eugene O'Neill Playwriting Fellowship at the O'Neill Playwrights' Center.
Recent festival productions include: Manhattan Theatre Source’s Spontaneous Combustion # 39 (The Poe Special) and Dark Lady Players’ Evening of Amelia Plays.
Other New York City staged readings, workshops, and/or productions took place at the Monarch Theatre Company (at The Players Theatre), Columbia University’s Shapiro Studio, Horace Mann Theatre, and Shetler Studios’ Theatre 54.
She has worked in Maine with the following theatres/companies: The University of Southern Maine; Luther Bonney Auditorium; Brown Bag Theatre; Acorn Theatre, and the Woodford’s Church Theatre.
