Community Health Centers
The Community Health and Social Medicine (CHASM) Department has developed a partnership with a network of comunity health centers to provide clinical experiences for BS-MD students in the fourth year Patient-Doctor course (MED 42700 and MED 42800). These community health centers provide primary care services to patients in a variety of neighborhoods in New York City, includng medically under-served areas. Students have an opportunity to shadow medical practitioners, learn how to do an intake interview, and gain valuable first-hand experience.
