Study Guidelines for Chemistry
The Chemistry Learning Center, MR 1029
Tutoring in General and Organic Chemistry.
Fall 2012 Tutoring Schedule
Science Division Tutoring Center, MR 1005
The Science Division is offering tutoring in Organic Chemistry I and II as well as other science courses. Please register at the Tutoring Center website.
PLTL developed workshops, mostly in General Chemistry I and II, in which students gather in small groups to learn difficult concepts and work on problems. Each group is lead by a "peer leader", a former student who earned a high grade in that course in a past semester. The peer leaders are trained through meetings with the faculty and learning specialist.
If you are interested in becoming a peer leader, contact the workshop coordinators, Irving Derin or Katelyn Jung, or visit the PLTL website.
The Chemistry Department posts information about scholarships, summer research opportunities, job offers, graduate schools, as well as general information that may be useful to undergraduates. Regularly check the bulletin boards outside MR 1024.
Every spring, the Department holds its annual Chemistry Recognition Ceremony. A number of cash awards and prizes are presented to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students. To receive many of these awards, students must be declared Chemistry majors.
