Core Curriculum/General Education Requirements*
Students who entered City College before Fall 2008 must follow the
Core Curriculum from the 2005-2007 CCNY bulletin.
Students entering City College Fall 2008 and after must fulfill the
General Education Requirements for the B.S.
*NOTE
ALL CHEMISTRY MAJORS, REGARDLESS OF ENTRY DATE, MUST TAKE THE FOLLOWING MATH AND PHYSICS SEQUENCES:

20100: Calculus I
20200: Calculus 2
20300: Calculus 3

20700: Physics 1
20800: Physics 2
To receive the B.S. in Chemistry, majors must pass all of their Chemistry courses with a grade of C or higher. To see the requirements for a concentration, follow the link to the page.
Criteria to declare Chemistry as a major
- Admission to the Division of Science
- Sophomore standing
- Passed Organic Chemistry 1 (Chem 26100 with a grade of C or higher (no C-)
- Currently taking Math 20300
- Have a minimum 2.0 overall GPA
