To receive the B.S. in Chemistry, majors must pass all of their Chemistry courses with a grade of C or higher.  To see the requirements for a concentration, follow the link to the page.


Criteria to declare Chemistry as a major

  • Admission to the Division of Science
  • Sophomore standing
  • Passed Organic Chemistry 1 (Chem 26100 with a grade of C or higher (no C-)
  • Currently taking Math 20300
  • Have a minimum 2.0 overall GPA

Students who entered City College before Fall 2008 must follow the
Core Curriculum from the 2005-2007 CCNY bulletin.

General Education Requirements for the B.S.
