Undergraduate Programs
The Department of Physics offers Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees in a number of specializations.
The B.S. degree in physics focuses on undergraduate training in basic physics with unique opportunities for students to work closely with a world renown research faculty. Students may choose course programs in materials science, photonics, biophysics, education, and other areas.
The Physics Department cooperates in the Program in Premedical Studies (PPS), a program of the Division of the College of Liberal Arts and Science. This allows the student to major in Physics while participating in PPS. The program features a curriculum which integrates a variety of learning experiences specifically preparing participants to meet medical, dental and veterinary school admission requirements as well as those for physician’s assistant and physical therapy advanced degree programs.
