Welcome to the International Studies Program
Leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in International Studies, this CCNY program is unique to the metropolitan area. The Program draws on a rich diversity in the College's student population as well as the academic, institutional and cultural resources of New York City. It links the many professional schools and departments in the College, providing students with an opportunity to develop an internationalist perspective through courses in International Studies, Study Abroad or an internship with an international organization.

The Program will train you for professional careers in the international field. It will increase your appreciation of the diverse cultures that make up the world, and your understanding of the global issues that confront your generation. It will provide you with analytical skills, proficiency in foreign languages and work experience which might be the stepping stone to a career.

Meet Our Students

Denice Dorchak-Ochola, Denicean International Studies major, participated in CCNY's Service Learnng program in El Salvador in the summer of 2007, teaching ESL to university students at the Universidad Monsenor Oscar Arnulfo Romero (UMOAR) in Chalatenango, close to the Honduran border. The students there, who often walk miles to get to class, are often so poor that they need sponsors to pay the tuition of $270 per semester; CCNY's program developed out of such a sponsorship, and International Studies majors raise funds for their designated student through bake sales and donations in addition to serving as ESL teacher volunteers.
