Winston Fellowship for Study Abroad

The objective of the Winston Fellowship is to provide students with an opportunity for immersion in another culture and for research which might be the basis for their senior thesis.

Requirements:

- matriculated IS Major with CCNY GPA of 3.0 or more.

- two letters of recommendation

- unofficial transcript

- personal goal statement.

Priority for Winston awards is given to students who will use the study abroad to develop a senior thesis or policy portfolio.

Application deadline:November 10 (for Spring semester), April 10 (for Fall Semester)

General Motors Scholarship Fund
This fund is used to assist minorities and women enrolled as fulltime matriculated students at the College. The stipend varies with need, and the maximum is $1,500 per year.

Requirements:
- U.S.citizen or Permanent resident
- enrolled , fulltime, matriculated undergraduate
- completed 12 credits, with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- making satisfactory progress towards degree
- demonstrated financial need and self-help
- participation in college-wide and community activities.

Application deadline: June 13 (for succeeding year).

Mellon Minority Undergraduate Fellowships
Fellowships of up to $2,000 a year provide minority students with an opportunity to work closely with a faculty mentor and participate in special symposia and summer research internships.

Application deadline: April 15 (for succeeding year)

Belle Zeller Scholarship Trust Fund
Established by the Professional Staff Congress/CUNY, this scholarship of $1,250 per year is awarded to students who demonstrate characteristics of scholarship, leadership and service.

Requirements:
- fulltime CUNY undergraduate
- 16 credits at any branch of CUNY
- GPA of 3.75 or better
- typed applications
- transcript of college work
- 4 letters of recommendation attesting to contributions to college and community (two from faculty, regarding academic performance)
- bursar's receipt as proof of fulltime enrollment
- completed application form.

Application deadline: November 27 (for succeeding academic year).

Harry S. Truman Scholarships
This national, highly competitive scholarship awards a maximum of $7,000 annually for up tofour years to students who will be juniors in the forthcoming academic year and who have demonstrated outstanding potential for leadership in any phase of government.

Requirements:
- U.S. citizen
- fulltime sophomore
- an average of at least 'B'
- major should lead to a career in public service
- demonstrate an interest in public service at federal, state or
  local level

New York City Department of Personnel's Fellowship/Internship
The Urban Fellows Program is a nine-month program that combines work in  Mayoral offices and city agencies with an intensive seminar that explores key issues facing the city government. Good career prospects. The fellowship carries a stipend of $20,000.

Requirements:
- recent college graduates, no more than a year out of college.
- participate full-time in the program for a year
