Logroño, La Rioja, Spain
Founded in the 11th century, Logroño is a dynamic city in northwest Spain. It is the capital city of the autonomous community of La Rioja, Spain’s wine country, birthplace of the Spanish Language, and the site of many important medieval structures and an important “stop” in the Camino de Santiago.
Orientations
There will be a pre-departure orientation during the Spring 2012 semester.
Program Dates

Academics
- Track 1: Intermediate Spanish (SPAN 225) & Spanish Culture (SPAN 31002)
- Track 2: Post-Franco Cinema & 20th-Century Spanish Art for advanced and native speakers (Undergrad & Grad)
Excursions and workshops
- Guided excursion of the monasteries of San Millán de la Cogolla by an expert on Spanish medieval language and culture.
- A guided excursion of Logroño by an expert Historian and Art / Architecture specialist
- An excursion of one of La Rioja’s oldest wineries: Dinastía Vivanco
- Dinner at legendary Dinastia Faustino winery.
Ground Transportation
Students will be picked up at Madrid Airport and will be taken to The Riviera Residence in Logroño (about 5 hours) and back to Madrid when the program is completed.

Deposit: $300.00 (deposit due with application)

What does it cover?
Program cost includes courses with excellent professors at a state-of the art institution, materials for school, accommodations in a very nice dormitory for a month (on a beautiful park three blocks from school and near a large shopping mall), excursions, transportation from and to Madrid (which costs approximately $200), free wireless Internet in your room, private bathroom, towels, bed sheets provided twice a week, washer and dryer ast the dorm, private or semi private in-room kitchen, kitchen utensils, telephone in the rooms, gym, health insurance (EUROPEA, the best in Spain), free computer (w/internet) room at the dorm and TV room; access to the library, free salsa lessons by two renowned professionals (optional), free travel guidance and reservations, free usage of bicycles.

- CCNY Tuition for six credits
