CCNY International Service-Learning Program in Ghana July 4-31, 2013

CCNY Ghana ISL Summer Program

6 credits towards your International Relations Masters Program

Fundraiser Flyer

This is an event to raise money for a school in Kobina Ansa, Ghana. Kindergarten and first grade classes meet outside the                                school building in a fenced off area. Learning is disrupted during extreme heat and rainy seasons.

We wish to build them classrooms and provide them with water, electricity, and sanitation. If we raise enough money we would

also like to provide textbooks and donated laptops. We will have African jewelry and other knickknacks for sale in order                                        to raise funds, and appreciate any donations (money and old laptops) that you might wish to make.

This fundraiser will also feature live performances by

  • School.Ov.Thought (a Reggae/Rock/Hip Hop band)
  • Tuelo Minah (a South African songstress)
  • Són Boom (a vocal group)
  • an African-Drum circle
  • Distinguished and Elle Vie (both spoken word artists)

The host, Latasha, created DopeFiles.com, a web show about music and fashion. She has covered and sat front row at Mercedes Benz               fashion week, NY fashion week and many other high-profile fashion events. She has interviewed numerous celebrities, including Pharrell,

and Trey Songz. She has showcased AstroKid and J-rome, as underground artists,  before they made it on hit TV talent shows.

100% of the money raised will go toward the project and not any administration fees. Every dollar helps.
