The Infant Laboratory

The Infant Laboratory, also known as the Parent Development Laboratory, is located in Room 7/308 of the NAC building.  The lab is used by Dr. Arietta Slade and her team to store data collected from a variety of studies of infant and parent development, and as a venue to meet for the purposes of scoring and analyzing data from these studies. There are two studies that Dr. Slade is working on currently. The Pregnancy Project is a longitudinal study of mothers and their infants that is aimed at studying the antecedents and correlates of infant attachment status. The second, the Minding the Baby program, provides intensive home visitation services to high risk mothers and their families, and is based on a reflective parenting model. Dr. Slade's group currently is analyzing outcomes from the first wave of data collected on intervention subjects.
