The Skadden, Arps Honors Program in Legal Studies
Our Program

A two-year course of study for students who have completed approximately 50 to 70 credits of undergraduate work, the Skadden, Arps Honors Program begins the summer prior to the student's junior year with an intensive four-week Summer Institute, and is open to eligible City College and transfer students.


What We Offer

  • Mentoring opportunities
  • A summer internship with stipend at a law firm or legal services non-profit.
  • A four-week summer institute designed to strengthen basic and critical thinking skills and to introduce students to the legal profession.
  • A legal studies curriculum, designed to complement a wide range of majors, and to provide students with an advanced understanding of the legal system and its role in US society.
  •  Academic and law school application advising.
  •  LSAT preparation and tutoring

 

Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to be compatible with a variety of majors. Skadden Scholars are required to take four courses in total, including Legal Research and Writing, the Junior Seminar, and our capstone course, the Skadden Senior Seminar.
