The Special Education Program will be conducting workshops to prepare you for the upcoming edTPA requirement for New York State Teacher Certification. The workshops are geared toward candidates who (a) will be student-teaching Spring '14 or Fall '14, (b) do not possess initial certification, (c) do not hold a Transitional B certificate, or (d) hold a Transitional B certificate, but will not have completed all certification requirements by April 30, 2014 -see your advisor about this distinction. The workshops will be highly informative and each will build upon the previous sessions.
The following are the workshop dates:
December 7th, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
February 1st, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
March 15th, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

The National Educational Association of Disabled Students is a consumer organization, with a mandate to encourage the self-empowerment of post-secondary students with disabilities. NEADS advocates for increased accessibility at all levels so that disabled students may gain equal access to college or university education, which is their right. The Association provides information on services and programs for students with disabilities nationwide, publishes a regular newsletter, and conducts research on issues of importance to its members. Members include students with exceptionalities/disabilities, educators, organizations and professional service providers.
